Oil Furnaces
Meet your new oil furnace—a clean, lean burning machine
Oil furnaces have come a long way since the old days. Today’s furnaces have a high-efficiency rating of at least 80%, so they produce warmth and energy savings. Some units boast energy efficiency ratings of 98%. Oil furnaces today are also whisper quiet—not like the clunky old furnace your parents had! They also are programmable with wi-fi thermostats for even greater energy savings.
How do oil furnaces work?
An oil furnace supplies a home with “warm air” heat. Heating oil travels from an oil tank to the furnace burner where it becomes a fine mist mixed with air. This mixture is then injected into the burner where it is ignited in a combustion chamber. The furnace then disperses the warm air throughout your home—typically through ductwork.
Benefits of oil furnaces:
- Energy-efficient: Units can be up to 90% efficient and oil consumers receive up to 30 percent more BTUs for their heating dollar than natural gas or electricity customers.
- Last longer: Oil furnaces can last up to 30 years when regularly maintained
- Cleaner: With cleaner heating oil available, means oil furnaces produce less odor, soot and have less impact on the environment.
